How to make a complaint to the hospital?

So, I went through a very traumatic birth and suffered abuse and malpractice at Gloucester Royal Hospital back in late August when my daughter was born and I've not had time to make a complaint due to an extremely high needs baby demanding all my attention. But it is very important for me to be able to make my voice heard and for my complaint to be taken to the top and not just brushed off. I was told you can only make a complaint within a year of the birth, is this true? Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you

I'm so sorry to hear you went through that. I'm not sure on the year thing as I thought you could do it whenever. I believe PALS is who you need to contact. Sending lots of love ❤️

i'm so sorry to hear about this and hope you can start the process. according to this, ideally the complaint should be made within 12 months of the event but the deadline can be extended if there is a good reason for doing so, and they even specify that it might be the trauma that prevents you from making the complaint within 12 months. it also suggests you could write to the provider within 12 months to let them you are intending to complain x

You’re not the only one to have suffered at Gloucester. That’s where I’m from didn’t have my baby there though. My two closest friends have both have kids there one needed iron infusion and blood transfusion and they left her 4 hours in her own blood saying that they was going to come sort her in a moment. Gloucesters maternity ward can be horrendous.

@Paige They almost killed both me and my daughter and didn't even try to stick to my birth plan. Where abouts in Gloucester are you?
