Elective C Section Princess Alexandra Harlow
Hi has anyone recently had/due an elective C Section at PAH? At what point was you given your date and when for?
I am 38 weeks/3rd baby and requested a c section back in October at my very first midwife appointment. However, I have just been told they are too busy and cannot fit me in until I am a week overdue, worst case. Obviously if I go into labour beforehand they will do the section there and then. Baby is on 95th percentile but no other concerns. Very worried about potentially being a week overdue, and even more anxious about going into labour beforehand and having it turn from a calm elective to an emergency. Thanks x

I was given my date at 38 weeks exactly- I didn’t make it to my elective though 😂. Baby is now 9 days old. My calm elective was a second emergency and honestly, it was still very chilled, aside from contractions and waters breaking.

I had one there 11 months ago , they let me know one week in advance, the surgery went well , the doctors and staff are very nice , I had mine at 38 weeks and 4 days . Don’t be nervous everything will go well . One day before the surgery they will call u in , u will get two pills to take one before u go to sleep and one in the morning when u wake up , and after 10 or midnight can’t remember now u can’t eat anymore only drink water.
