Undescended testicle did not survive after an year of surgery

I’m broken as I heard this news from doctor. The testicle that was supposed to grow and survive isn’t doing. Any similar stories or suggestions?

It’s just one that he lost? Or is it both? I’m just trying to understand the situation.

@Amber he just lost one , the other one is healthy and fine from birth.

Okay got ya. So this didn’t happen to my sons but their father actually only has one testicle himself.

I went to school with a boy who only had one testicle, it hasn’t impacted his life at all and now has a family of his own xx

Sorry to hear that! My son is 3.5months with an undescended testicle too :( We have an appointment with a specialist at the Evelina childrens hospital in July so he’ll be almost 6months then. They keep saying that the testicle should go down into the sac by itself and if not we will probably have to get surgery.. how old was your little guy when he got the surgery done?

@Shannen they asked us to wait for a year expecting it to come down but he was operated at the age of 1year then second at 1.6yrs.

My son is 3 and is still waiting for surgery. He’s been waiting since he was 6 months old they said they couldn’t do it until he was 1.5 but still waiting

My 5 year old it was undecended till he was over a year. Then finally came down. He can still have kids fine with just one so no worries!

Why sons right testi hasn’t descended either ☹️, to be honest I wonder why so many of our babies are being born like this…

@Suzy I have the same question as well

This happened to my boy and he had to have surgery to remove the bad one. They ran a bunch of test and knew it had never developed. He was 6 months old and the surgery was fast. They confirmed in the surgery that they were right. we left the hospital a couple hours after the surgery. And that same day once we got home you couldn’t even tell he had survey. The doctor told me this has been common for a long time it’s just not as talked about but 🤷‍♀️
