Im so sorry that happened! Sounds super stressful and I’m glad you’re feeling better! They suggested POTS but because my blood pressure doesn’t seem to be an issue they are leaning towards SVT. I feel like no one in my life has ever experienced anything like this!
I don’t have issues with my blood pressure either now it’s stable and always has been but was still diagnosed with pots didn’t fit all the criteria’s but after ruling out everything else that’s what they have put it down too! You find a lot of people are in that same predicament also when they get testing or their heart rates don’t stay elevated for a period of time to classify it as pots. You’re definitely taking the right actions in getting things looked into further 🙏🏻 do you find a trigger for your heart rate to go higher? For myself it’s when I wake up, eat, too warm, drink alcohol which I don’t do anymore.
Wow almost the same. Not always when I wake up but most mornings, the heat really kills me, eating (especially carbs, which I have been trying to eliminate) I don’t drink, but also any exercise. I went for a walk and super light jog for about a block and my heart rate was at 120-130 for 4 hours after! I haven’t exercised since because it felt horrible.
@Juliana yup carbs is the worse for me too! So strange isn’t it, walking or doing any stair climbing etc if I don’t take take propanolol is a no go too! Also I’m based in Scotland UK but you can connect with me and can talk to you or vice versa as they did originally say SVT for me too, it’s horrible feeling like this like you’re alone.
I was taking propranolol for anxiety, it did help a little bit. Then one doctor did not want to prescribe this as I was taking tablets for high blood pressure and it could potentially make it low... I had very bad palpitations before , when I could not sleep because my heart was beating like a crazy... I actually have to monitor my blood pressure and heart rate daily , I have heart condition and after one doctor put me at risk with natural delivery, I got something else... Please try not to worry , just monitor your heart and hopefully you will be fine xx
I am on propanolol for wild high heart rates and have been for the good part of ten years got so many tests done and the conclusion was POTS, I gave birth 9 months ago and had so many issues postpartum my heart rate dropped so low 5 days later and my blood pressure went so high, it got resolved 12 weeks postpartum with blood pressure medication now I’m back on propanolol religiously. Hope your tests are okay and you get some answers.
