Breech baby

Hey! I’m currently 36 weeks pregnant. LO is completely breech and has been for over a month. I’ve tried everything to move her but midwife thinks she’s very comfortable and happy in that position. I have a scan in a few days to confirm position then they will offer me an ECV at 37 weeks if appropriate. Does anyone have any ECV success stories? They’ve mentioned that I need to bring my hospital bag when the procedure happens in case baby becomes distressed and I need an emergency c section. I’m not fully prepared to have LO at 37 weeks so I’m unsure on what to do. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately not any advice but I’m nearly in the same boat, currently breach at 34weeks and have been advised that I may have to have the same! I hope baby decides to move for you before your scan! Good luck with it all and I hope it works out! X

Have confidence they can turn. Use the ball, allot of babies turn last min. Personally, and this is just me. I wouldn't do an ECV. It's painful and like you say, stresses the baby.

Hi I am 37 weeks and had my ECV yesterday and it was a success. Baby is now turned so now a huge anxiety is that she stays turned! The procedure itself took less than 5 minutes in total. The monitoring took much longer before and after. My baby was very active and so kept moving the heart monitor lol. The procedure was quick, it was highly uncomfortable but I definitely wouldn’t describe it as painful. A high level of discomfort and I did get overwhelmed. However, I was offered gas and air to help me breathe better and honestly I am glad I had it done. As now I know I have a better chance at a vaginal birth! Baby was not distressed a single bit and heart rate was so normal x

@Nazmin thank you so much for sharing your experience! It has definitely helped with my anxiety about it all!! X
