They don’t recommend getting pregnant for at least 2 years after c section, I would speak to your doctor and get advice before trying x

4 months is too early

I was told to wait 18 months after my c section, I got pregnant at 17 months postpartum with twins and they offered me a VBAC, which I told them I wasn't interested in, and I haven't had any issues.

Most providers recommend 18-24 months for another pregnancy after any delivery, but especially c-section because it decreases the risks to both mom and baby. Back to back pregnancies are at higher risk of preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, placental abruption and uterine rupture. I would speak to your OB provider if you're planning to get pregnant soon.

I wouldn't intentionally get pregnant again so soon. After I had my first my doctor told me do not under any circumstances get pregnant until at least a year... but that was 18 years ago. I don't recall discussing it after I had my 5 year old but it does seem life the recommendations are now 18 months.

I got pregnant at 6 months pp and it definitely wasn't planned. However, I was offered a VBAC and chose elective. I had no issues at all during pregnancy or birth. However, it's tiring being pregnant with a toddler i won't lie, and the newborn stage it tough. Baby has you up throughout the night, toddler up at 7, so no laying in. And when toddler naps, baby needs a feed, so no napping in the day either. I did have low papp-a, 2 vessel umbilical cord, and gestational diabetes this time. I wounder if the cord and low papp-a were because my body hadn't healed enough, but no one will ever know if it's linked. If a Dr clears you, go for it. Remember, the newborn stage is temporary, and so is pregnancy, and their is a light at the end of the tunnel. X

I got pregnant 1 year after my first c-section, second pregnancy went smooth until I had to go for an emergency C-section as being in labour for too long was too risky the doctor said as the scar could easily rip

I got pregnant 4 months pp. I have another c section next week. I haven’t had any issues but it is recommended to wait.

I got pregnant 14 months PP, we’re currently 29 weeks pregnant. They’ve said I can birth however I’d like, no one seems worried about scar etc. My first was an emergency c-section so that might be why. No issues so far

The minimum drs advise is to wait 12-18 months before getting pregnant again. 4months is definitely too soon you’re likely still healing internally!

If you want VBAC don't get pregnant yet. It's really not wroth the risk. I got pregnant to soon after and had a pretty emotional ride. Also after 2 c sections VBAC is never recommended so if you want to try you gotta wait 🤷‍♀️
It's 18 months between due dates.

Thank you everyone for all your advice! My hospital does not do VBAC’s and I’m not willing to switch OB’s as my husband and I both really like him. I will definitely talk to my husband about waiting much longer before trying again!
