Low lying placenta and sex

I’ve only just recently found out to avoid sex with low lying placenta. Looking at my notes I’ve had a low lying placenta at 12 and 20 week scan but they didn’t mention anything - we have been having sex all the way through and not experienced any bleeding. Has anyone continued to have sex whilst they have a low lying placenta? We stopped for a few weeks but we are struggling now 😂

I had the same. We’ve reduced how much we have sex and have given real consideration to positions etc. I also had a private scan at 24 weeks and my placenta had moved up a bit so felt more reassured after that.

Low lying placenta doesn't necessarily mean you'll have bleedings, it depends how low it is and if it's touching the cervix, you just need to be careful.
I have placenta previa and had bleedings, some bad, I've hospitalised 3 times in a month and have to avoid sex, lifting, anything strenuous etc.
Just keep an eye on it, if you have bleedings stop having sex immediately and get checked out

I’ve booked a private for 26 weeks as we are due for a holiday at 30 weeks too but can’t imagine that’s going to go ahead.
I was just surprised neither the sonography team nor midwife advised against anything. So we have been carrying on as normal x

at 20 weeks we was 0.6cm away from cervix so fingers crossed it’s moved x

Yes that’s really strange. We were given a leaflet at our 20 week scan

I was only told at my community midwife appt at 16 weeks to not have sex. Which because of sickness and how i had been feeling we hadn’t . Now 25 weeks still with a low lying placenta and booked for another scan at 32 weeks.
Because we haven’t done the deed I am now too scared to do so just in case! 😬 xx
