Hi all! I’m due to give birth in Watford hospital this month, I’ve heard post birth you can pay for a private room if there’s any available, if someone else comes in that needs it they will have priority and you can be refunded, I can’t seem to find this online at all though, does anyone know if this is actually true?

I gave birth in Feb and asked about this and they said it’s only for contagious people since Covid. If you have anything contagious, they will keep you and the baby there. You can ask when you go to hospital, but this us what they told me.

I gave birth last year in the ABC and had a private room. Generally in the hospital part you are in a shared ro until you have to give birth then you are moved to a private one from my understanding.

As far as im aware they do not offer this.
There are only a few rooms and they are used for infection control or specific needs. This is post birth naturally. But in delivery you are in yojr own room.

Oh yes, when you give birth, you are in a private room, i thought the question was for the post birth room, just to clarify.
