Birthday party ideas

What are people doing for their baby’s first birthday? We are planning on doing a party with family and friends but I’m not sure what sort of things we should have going on! I don’t want to be spending hundreds on the party but there will be other children there so don’t want them to be bored

We are doing a party just at our house to keep it casual (and less expensive!) it’s actually my 30th the day before my daughter’s 1st so it’ll be a joint party. We’re hiring a bouncy castle for the kids as most of them who will come are toddlers and older. The bouncy castle is £75 for the weekend. For the babies/1 year olds I’m going to buy my daughter a big ball pit for her birthday so we’ll have that, and just get all her toys out on a play mat for them (hopefully outside in the garden!)
Just going to do finger food and a selection of soft drinks and alcohol for the adults.
I’m estimating that it’ll cost around £150 for everything 😊
