Eugh!!! Told today I've failed my GD test at 27w!!! I've got pcos so that's why they wanted me to test! HELP! Can I still have a midwife led birth centre or will it have to be in a proper hospital set up? Any guidance would be appreciated feel so deflated! And to top it off the midwife text me to tell me while I was in the car driving to a work event so now sat in a hotel room nearly 4 hours from home crying without my husband 😭

Know that you're always entitled to the birth that you want. When have you got your next midwife appointment? Could you book one for soon, so you can discuss your concerns? I do know someone who had GD and went on to have their baby at a birth centre, rather than hospital, so it is possible. I don't know if they were fortunate not to have many issues throughout, and that could be why. It might be something that you need to fight for a bit, but they can never force you into any birthing option. It's your birth and your body. So, as long as you discuss and research it all thoroughly to a point that you feel safe with your decision, you be where you want and need to be. Sending you hugs!

I got it and it really hard to mange I find..I’m on medication for it
I was asked if I wanted c section due to risk of big baby which I agree to
I’m still midwife led but see the diebetic team a lot as well
Not many foods work for me
But just remember it not your fault it the placenta

I got diagnosed last week and currently just diet controlled. There’s a gestational diabetes uk facebook group that’s super helpful which I would recommend joining.
I think you can still be at the midwife med centre as long as your consultant is happy with this. I have my first consultant appointment next week and should be told much more then. Feel free to reach out to me 🩷
