Baby play space

Anyone else only let their baby crawl/play in a particular room? I have tile in the main areas of the house and I hate that my dogs make the floors dirty so I don’t want baby crawling around on that… I’m terrified she’ll tip over and smack her head on the tile and just ew about putting her little hands where the dogs drag everything. BUT also don’t want to limit her curiosity and development by confining to a singe room

We haven't give her a single room to explore. She gets to roame wherever. I also have a dog so totally get the whole dirty floor stuff. What you could do is put some foam play tile things down till she's a bit more confident with going around so if she does face plant the floor it's on foam rather than tiles. You can also use the foam tiles under a paddling pool when your done with them inside. Until she's confident you might want to keep her in one room and only let her roame when your up and about in the other room. I hope it makes sense

We only had one area for our son to play in because that is just how our place is set up. We had barriers keeping our dog our of the area while he was really little. He figured out the gate really quickly though so we just gave up and used the barrier to block off the tv instead. We had a foam tile mat in his play area, but they became more of a nuisance as he kept ripping them up. We gave up on everything around a 1.5 years. Falls are an important part of learning to walk. Just be there to comfort tears and encourage to try again.

We started with one of the big floor play yards since we have a cat. Her toys were in there, we put down foam mats too. Now she’s exploring the whole house at 7 months and we have gates when we want to keep her in one room and for the stairs. It’s very scary at first but exploring their surroundings is super important for their development. My daughter’s favourite thing is crawling under the kitchen table. We sweep, mop, and vacuum daily because any little thread she will pick up

Constantly sweeping is the nightmare. It’s the living room and dining area for me. And we also have the xl play pen but I leave the door open so he doesn’t feel trapped. Even tho he still does sometimes. I keep smaller toys and book in there and larger stand up toys out. And dining area I gave him some pots and plastic bowls.

I tried to vacuum daily when my baby was crawling. Or I would limit my dog to stay more in my husbands office to limit the amount of hair my daughter would crawl through lol
