Be honest—does the name Everly fall into that ‘trendy girl names ending in -leigh’ stereotype that people often make fun of?

We love the name for its soft, feminine sound and the gentle feeling it evokes, but we also want to make sure we’re not giving her a name that might lead to teasing.

I think it would make a super cute middle name

I don’t think it’s a name that will be made fun of by her peers. It is very trendy though right now. Between my kids two schools I can think of 3 they know off the top of my head 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t like the name everly personally but I don’t think it falls into the “Leigh” category lol (I prefer it spelled everlee if I was gonna ever use the name, which honestly feels more “Leigh”ish than your version lol)

It does seem like a trendy name but I think there are so many names that eventually will be very evocative of the time those people were born. I think part of why people may make fun of the -Leigh names is that people are spelling those names in a way they don’t “need” to be spelled. My daughter has a Leigh name but at the beginning so I don’t know if I get lumped in with this trend or not 🤣 her name is Leighton (late-in)

Leighton is so pretty and classy! Definitely doesn’t get lumped into that category in my opinion. It gives sophisticated and elegant vibes to me!

@Brittany ooof yeah that’s a red flag for sure. I didn’t realize how popular it actually was!

Depends where you live. My daughter is Everly and we’re in the UK and it’s quite rare. I’ve had many people comment how unusual it is even though I know it’s popular in the US

My daughter is Waverley I feel like that’s more -Leigh feel than Everly we get a lot of compliments on it though. Both are becoming very popular though

only if you spell it everleigh 😂

@Tessa Waverley makes me think of the Joy Luck Club!

@Raqi I always get asked if it’s after Wizards of Waverly place 😂

My daughters name is literally Tsunami, I think your child will be ok being named Everly lmaooo

Ashleigh, Beverleigh, Marraleigh, Maleigh, Sundleigh, Mondleigh, Stacleigh, Marleigh, Carleigh, Dourleigh, Everleigh, Harleigh, Ileigh, Kaleigh, Pauleigh, Rosleigh, Soleigh, Taleigh, Uleigh, Valeigh, Leighanna, Leighanne, Aleigh,Leighlynn, Kaleigh, Ashleigh, Graceleigh,Keeleigh, Eveleigh, Waverleigh, Annsleigh,Hunterleigh, Zaleigh.  For boys: Leigh, Caleb Leigh I’ve only seen it spelt as Leigh

I don't think it falls into that category unless you spell it Everleigh. I love the name Everly and have only ever heard 2 Everly's, personally. 1 would be in her late 40s now and was a colleague from another country. The other is about 10 and the daughter of an old schoolmate. It's a beautiful name. If you live it, go for it.

ANY name can lead to teasing if another kid doesn’t like you they can tease you w any name you have. If you like the name Everly then use it.

Yes. To me, it sounds like Beverly without the B. I don’t like it. It also means wild boar haha, why would you name a little girl after an aggressive pig 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Gigi it actually means wild boar meadow so I did not name my daughter after an ‘aggressive pig’. Gigi apparently comes from the French for farmer - why would anyone call their child a farmer? Point being if it’s a nice name and someone likes it, the meaning shouldn’t matter. If you don’t like it that’s fine but you don’t need to be rude about it
