My LO is 11 months old and keeps pulling at the cats tails, they are chill about it but LO thinks it’s funny. I try to not draw unnecessary attention to it and quickly stop the behavior/ redirect but he’s still doing it. 😭 He also does the same thing with trying to throw toys into the cat litter. Any tips or suggestions to help him lose interest?

I would just tell my LO that she was hurting the cat. That we want to love on the cat not hurt her and then we would practice gentle pats. You kinda have to appeal to what works for them. My LO is very compassionate so the idea of hurting the cat was enough to make her stop.

My LO would pull the cats tail because he wanted to interact with the cat. Everytime he pulled the cat tail I would give him a cat toy and show him how to use it or show him how to pet nicely. Now he gets the toy or pets the cat instead of pulling the tail.

Redirecting! Showing them the way you want them to interact as opposed to focusing on how not to interact. This will apply to lots of other things as they turn into a toddler so get into the habit now.
