Hi my LO is 7 soon to be 8months and from 6 months old I’ve been giving 1 meal a day & 6 x 7oz bottles of formula. Last week we were told by the HV to increase to 3 meals and 2 snacks a day and to drop down to 2/3 bottles a day. So we started giving 3 meals a day and 5 bottles (7oz still) but since then my LO has had really bad constipation having never had constipation before. To my knowledge food before 1 was for fun but the HV is now using it for nutrition. Because of the constipation I had to change all meals to just pear and prune puree for the last 2 days. Would it be okay if I started giving just 2 blw meals a day and still 5 bottles of milk or is the HV right about LO needing the nutrition from food now??

Personally I wouldn't listen to the advice of your HV and listen to pediatric associations. By 9 months old they should be continuing to get like 80% of their nutrition from milk and about 200-500 calories a day (huge range because it depends on the baby).
They can also have about 6 oz of water a day which Will help with constipation.
The HV recommendation seems incredibly off base to me...I would not be comfortable with that.
