Can your 3YO ride a pedal bike?

Mine can’t balance on a balance bike nor push pedals on a trike. I I think some are more physically inclined than others so will be able to.

Our LB is really good on his balance bike, we’re getting him a pedal bike for Christmas 😊

Do they have bikes at nursery? My daughter can ride one with stabilisers but we’ve never taught her. She’s learnt at nursery from staff and other kids there as they get bikes out in the back yard most days. We have scooters at home so weren’t planning to teach her to ride a bike yet

He can pedal backwards but not forwards

My son is awful with this kind of skill. He’s still not very good on his balance bike, we got him a scooter for his third birthday and he cannot grasp it. Because of this, I haven’t bothered with a proper bike yet.

Mine can with assistance on his new pedal bike since his father took the training wheels off but he is super fast on his balance bike & takes off out of sight when we go around the block🤦‍♀️ I work at his daycare & always need to remind him to slow down on the pedal bikes cos I'm afraid he is going to hurt someone!🫣

Mine can ride a balance bike and scooter, hes pretty fast with them too.
Can't use a pedal trike as his legs aren't long enough 🤣 haven't bought him a proper bike yet, I'm leaving that until he's about 5 or 6 so I don't have to carry it and him 500 miles home like I do now cos he's "too tired" 🤣 I got him a balence bike that turns into a trike type bike so when he's abit taller I'll pop the pedals and stabilisers on for him

I've only just seen this so a late response! My daughter has been riding without pedals since 2 1/2 we bought a balance bike that changed into a pedal bike so we weren't having to constantly upgrade we got a strider bike for her. She was great on a balance bike so the transition was easy as she already had her balance :) she learnt to ride a pedal bike in a week and loves it xx
