Hi ladies,
Now that we know what school our little ones will be going to, what should we do next? I didn't go to school in the UK and the process is new for me... Do we just wait for the school to contact us or are we expected to get in touch with the school?
Thanks 😊

I was just thinking that. Apparently the school we've got do a home visit. Xx

The school sent us a letter with all the info and asked us to come for registration next Tuesday. They want our daughter to come along. I know some schools do home visits instead. I guess you can give your school a call to find out.

Our school emailed this week with forms to fill in, emergency contacts etc and an ‘all about me’ form so they know a bit about him. Then we’ve got a welcome meeting in June and after that they will arrange a home visit x

We received a pack through the post just today, like the others we have forms to fill out & various visits booked between now & September, we also have the info for his first week. They will contact you don’t worry! Or give them a call to see when you should expect to hear from them

Our school do a weekly stay at play from now on, there’s transition events in June and July- an open evening, 1:1 parent meeting, a transition afternoon picnic, and the teacher will visit him at nursery.
That said- I only know this because I work for the same academy trust, I haven’t actually had any of that info from them yet 😂🤦🏻♀️
As above, in time they will be in touch to let you know what will be happening and key dates etc, but if you want to know what to expect, I’d just give them a call.

We’ve just started transitions at preschool, we’ve had the head of FS come in and the senco, we’ve passed all relevant info to them and from now until end of July the teachers will come over to pre school to talk to us as staff, get to know the children then they will split them into 3 (we’re a 3 tier entry) then we will take them over to the school so they can see the classrooms, toilets, playground and see the bigger children, after that will be stay and plays were the parents go in then we will drop them for 30-45 mins to have stay and play with their new class and teachers! Beginning of September the teachers do a home visit so they can find out more about the children in a space that is totally safe, then we have half days then in we go we’ve started school.
We’ve got a parents evening coming up and we will be told all this- think it’s next week- but I’ve got 2 older ones and the process is the same plus I’ve done it for the last 4yrs with preschool x

We were sent forms to fill out which I've already returned back to the school. Been given a date for a new entrants day early July in which we'll find out who my boys classroom teacher is etc. Beginning of September we have a home visit from class teacher, 2 hour stay & play and then one half day and after that it'll be full days. All was detailed in an email sent to us.

Hi ladies! Thank you so much for your replies, that's very helpful. I will wait to hear from the school and maybe give them a call next week if we don't hear from them until the end of the week! 😊

We've got a home visit where my daughter's teacher will come and meet my daughter in a few weeks time. Then think she will visit nursery to speak to key worker, and a couple of transition days.

We got an acceptance letter and another letter saying theres a parent information evening to attend. They've also given a form for us to fill in and explained on the letter that there will be short settling in sessions before she starts full time.

We got an email last week from our school, with an induction letter and a date to attend the school to meet the teachers and find out what class our child will be in. The letter also said they will do a home visit and stay and play sessions which we will find out the dates for those at our meeting. Our nursery said that the school have recently been in touch with them too

Thank you ladies! I ended up calling the school and they will send the letters out this week 🙂
