My pelvic girdle pain is causing me sooo many issues with sleeping. I just cannot get comfy, I wake constantly. Plus ever since I’ve got pregnant my toddlers sleep has just gone to crap (slept perfectly before) and he’s not so clingy - wanting to sleep in with me (which he’s never wanted before) and god I don’t know how co sleepers do it. Toddlers are terrible to sleep with 😂
But basically it’s all really impacting me during the day. I work my full time hours over 4 days so I can look after my son one day. So my days are long and I’m struggling to survive.
I was thinking about if I asked my GP or midwife about working slightly less hours, but I of course don’t want my pay to be impacted, so not sure if it’s possible. I was wondering if anyone has done this whose employer doesn’t typically offer working reduced hours when pregnant.

Could you get it agreed in your pregnancy risk assessment! Or would they reduce your pay for that?

I’m really not sure! It’s not something they typically offer (it’s an office job) so I feel like it would be likely to reduce my pay.

They don't offer a pregnancy risk assessment? Or they don't offer reduced hours? I think they'd legally have to at least have to consider reasonable adjustments, even if they ultimately decide that they can't make any.

I’ve just gone to the doctors and had a sick note for me to use, basically saying about going off work until I feel ready with reduced hours when I return. I work 9 hour days in nursery so lots of bending sitting small furniture etc. my hips lower tummy was crying 😫

they do risk assessments of course. But the reduced hours isn’t a typical thing they offer on mat leave like some places would do.
I’m only required to go in the office twice a week and I’m hoping to reduce that to once a week just because it means I’m able to get a little more rest

was the doctors able to give you anything for your PGP at all?
First time I had it I was in London and the doctors didn’t really help and I assumed they couldn’t. I’ve been working on my exercises to support. But gosh nights are rough!
Toddlers definitely sense some changes are happening don’t they. We were the same, he slept independently and actively hated co sleeping as he liked his space! Now he wants to be held or to have someone there 🤯

I wanted to do this go from 16hrs to 12hr but figured out if I did I’d lose my funded hours for my daughter pre school. 😂 4 weeks to go job standing in so much pain 🤪
