Maternity

I’m due early September, and have a lot of appointments end of July/ August so was planning on taking my maternity around then but is this too early? Is anyone else due early September and have an idea of when they will take maternity? Xxxxx

You're entitled to take time off for maternity appointments, so I'd be cautious starting maternity leave too early before baby comes...

I’m due sept 28th and what i’ve planned to do with my workplace is use any remaining holiday i have left before starting my official maternity leave on sept 14th x

I'm due September 1st and will be taking my maternity leave a week before. You're entitled to go to as many appointments as you need, your employer should know x

I’d definitely start your mat leave as late as possible! It goes so quickly and before you know it the return date is looming quickly!! Don’t worry about the appointments, you have to go to them, shouldn’t mean you have to go on mat leave early though!

You’re entitled to paid time off for your appointments as well x

Try to take your maternity as late as you can. With my first i saved my holiday days and booked them just before baby was due and then started maternity about a week before. Your workplace has to give you all your hospital appointment off anyways so that shouldn't be a problem

I’m due 16th September and have planned my maternity for the 1st Sept! I also had some holiday left my last official day at work will be 14th Aug with the annual leave i’ve taken!

You’ll be entitled to paid leave for antenatal appointments too, this is a legality at any work place I believe x

I’m due 3 September but will finish work 31 July, take two weeks of annual leave and then mat leave starts. I already know though that my baby will arrive mid August due to a medical condition.

You can take maternity leave on your 25 week of pregnancy. I would prefer to take the time nearer to birth. Work has to legally let you attend antenatal appointments and you are not legally required to make the time up either.

I will take all my annual leave before maternity leave and take the last week before due date as maternity. I want a full year bonding with baby

I’m due 18th September and taking my remaining holiday from 7th august(34 weeks) and then start maternity when holiday ends. I’m high risk for delivering preterm because my first tried to come at 34 weeks so I wanted to be off about then just incase

I’m due 7th September and have put my mat leave starting date as his due date. I’m a teaching so will have had 6 weeks off before hand to sort everything. Will most likely be pulling my hair out bored by that point and then if I make it in from the 1st I won’t be teaching but doing all admin stuff. If he’s early (which ever seems to think he will be) then I will just bring it forward. I was told better to leave it on paper as long as possible as you can always bring it forward the start date but not push it back.
