Does anyone think it will be okay to start baby porridge at 5 months

My baby just turned 5 months today and I started her on rice cereal on Monday, she can’t sit up completely unassisted yet but a doctor suggested it due to other digestive issues and said if she’s showing interest (she definitely was😂) go for it.

My baby is nearly 5 months and we’ve started it, he was trying to eat all of my food so I gave him a little bit and he loves it, he had a small amount each morning before his bottle. If your baby is ready if your baby can hold their head up on their own without any help then go for it x

If they can sit unassisted, hold their own head, and don’t stick out their tongue reflexively then you’re probably good to go! Something I have read is baby porridge is quite sugary (like most baby specific products) so you might be better off just ‘watering’ down regular porridge and blending the oats more finely x

I just started my LG at 5 and a bit months - grind the oats down and I use breast milk, she loves it. Actually didn’t even grind them today
