So I’m 4 months postpartum, and my fiancé has been asking about when are we having sex? That he has needs. I told him I don’t know I’m mentally so tired since it’s mostly me taking care of our son since he’s the one working. I need to focus more on myself, and have me time before I can even think about having sex again. And he says that he’s getting mentally exhausted not having sex, that he won’t cheat on me but he needs to have sex.

I’d tell him to grow tf up. You just grew a human for 9 months and then pushed them out of the same body part you use for sex. Disrespectful to you to be put in that position. The first few months, especially if it’s your first, is literally the most mentally and physically exhausting time of your life. He has a hand he can use for the time being.
Personally I started being intimate with my husband 5 weeks post partum this time. I’m also often very tired by the end of the day with having a toddler and 3 month old so there’s plenty of days we aren’t intimate. But I was ready to get back to it so if you’re not don’t be pushed to do so! That isn’t fair to you.

“I have needs” is so bothersome to me. He has the ability to care for those “needs” on his own.
I started back up when I was ready on my own timeframe and eased into being intimate with my husband. Didn’t jump to penetration right away because I wasn’t ready. And everyone’s timeframe is different.
Idk if this answer is helpful but for someone asking based on themselves, maybe it’s starts with some level of daily non sexual intimacy that your head feels like it can be into it again. Also do a self body check in, what feels good and safe to you right now.
Having a baby is so mentally exhausting that sometimes the last thing you’re thinking about is boning.

My boyfriend was saying the same crud after our 4mo was born too, so I took him to my 3 week checkup thinking that my OB was gonna be on my side to wait a bit longer. Well she fully told that I was good to go, so when we got home he wouldn’t let it go and I gave in. Ngl it hurt like a mf because I wasn’t ready and caused a little resentment in our relationship…

The most refreshed I ever feel is when I have sex with my husband. Sometimes I don’t even know I need it until he asks. I’ve had an experience going 6 months with no sex because I was too tired, exhausted you name it and I’ve had sex 6 weeks pp feeling the same exact way but choosing to have that time with my husband and feeling completely reenergized. In a marriage you both have needs. Obviously don’t do something you don’t want to do but open communication is key here in understanding how each other feels and WHY. I have 4 kids so when I can sneak away and connect with my husband I absolutely choose to do so. It helps our moods, resentment is nonexistent and we get along sooo much better when we can have that time together. Sex is a huge thing for men. Not because they’re pigs, but because they need that connection. It took me a loooong time to figure that out but once I did things have been amazing. I hope you 2 can sit down and have an honest conversation about how you’re feeling ❤️

We waited to have actual intercourse until I was 12 weeks postpartum. Personally, I would’ve done it sooner, but life got busy with two littles and it was hard to find time when we had the energy for it. I had a really easy birth, and I wanted to jump him at 3 weeks postpartum, lol but he wanted to wait for the all clear from my midwife at my 6 week follow up. We were still intimate in other ways after that, but we didn’t fully have sex until almost 12 postpartum. Even still, I can probably count on one hand how many times we’ve done it since then 🤪 it’s just a busy and exhausting season of life, so give yourself time and grace until you feel ready 🤍

I second the pelvic floor PT. My cervix was a hot mess after my 3rd and into my 4th pregnancy. I thought it was normal because I’ve had so many kids but after pt I feel like I did before having kids!

It took me a while but my fiancé was eager to get back into it and my body reacted differently to it because I had a c-section and the bottom of my belly is still numb but the rest of my body is sensitive to touch like ticklish everywhere so if he was to put his hand on my leg I would instantly start laughing and pull away

Idk exactly when it was but I’m pretty sure it was after the 6 week mark. He wasn’t asking me for anything at all. I’m the one who initiated, and I only felt good to do so because 1) I wasn’t stressed and 2) I wasn’t stressed BECAUSE he took care of me and our child. I did not have to worry about anything and honestly I still don’t. He washed all bottles and pump parts, made me food, tea, fills my water, massages me, changes diapers, soothes the baby, acts like a REAL partner. I can shower on my own and take time to myself. This is all without me asking! Because he’s so involved in my own well being, that made it easy for me to be intimate with him. The hardest part is getting the baby down to do it lol!! But bc he was delivering like that, I wasn’t so tired from motherhood that all of my sexual desire was gone. Men don’t “need” sex. They will survive. And if he acts like it’s a “need” he’s just pressuring you into it. Talk about why you don’t want to & the toll being a mother takes

Yeahhhh gross. That wouldn’t get me in the mood at all… pressure isn’t sexy. Initially it was intimidating and anxiety producing for me but I had to remember how to ride the bike so to speak. We didn’t have sex for the entire pregnancy and then probably 3 months after birth. I’m feeling more connected sexually now but it took practice for me to feel confident sexually again.

a few days after my stitches dissolved. about 7 weeks

I haven’t had sex until week and I went 4 months
