Regarding tonge ties - a brightside fun fact.

I don't know who needs to hear this but after coming out the other side of baby tounge tie hell our LC told us that according to some recent studies, a tounge tie indicates a really strong median, meaning that the risk of your child ever having spina bifida decreases drastically. Just a little silver lining to help you through it.

My son and daughter both had tongue ties. We got the frenectomy done for both, and best decision we ever did! Breastfeeding improved tremendously and my daughter speaks so well. If I have any more kids, and they have a tongue ties, they will also get the procedure. My daughter was about four months when she got it and my son was four days old.

Interesting!

How was the recovery?

@Mia for my kids, three weeks, but we had to do tongue exercises six times a day.

@Jacqueline thank you. just so nervous as there's laser and scissor procedures. thought of those gives me anxiety.

Laser 100%. My child’s pediatric dentist told me that the scissors are not accurate and he often has to do correction procedures.

@Jacqueline great. i have one booked, thank you!

our health visitor told me if one child has a tongue tie your next child is likely to have it. not sure how correct the fact is both myself and the husband didn't have a tongue tie, unless back in the days it was less recognised and women just got on with it
