I think I'll go with mam

We love mam I like that you can clean every part & also sterilise in the microwave super quick

Avatar

We used mam with my LB but I am avoiding them this time around because of all the parts to wash up!! We are looking at the nuk perfect match ones but haven't actually used them

Avatar

Used mam with my first and plan to use them again this time

I first bought tommie tip , my daughter wouldn’t take it, so tried mam and it solved the issue.

I don’t think you should buy to many of a kind just incase your bubs doesn’t take to them:) then you can still change.

Avatar

@Megan this might be a really stupid question 🤣 but do you put them in one at a time or all together xx

Avatar

@Amy that's the only thing putting me off tbh xx

Avatar

in the microwave? I think you can do up to 6 together! The mam website shows you how to stack them and the timings 😊

Avatar

thank you xx

We used MAM with our first. They were fab! X

Avatar

Mam are fab! I just wouldn't go buying loads until baby shows you that they can take to them just incase!

Mam glass bottles, but with lansinoh teats. He wasn’t into the Mam teats

Avatar

I got along great with Phillips bottle with both my kids i had them on breast and bottles from the start and they did great also loved using my Milton cold water steriliser to clean them I think I'd have a breakdown with all the mam parts to clean but they do look adorable x

Avatar

It’s really child dependent, so maybe having a couple readt to try. We had to try mam, tomee tipee and nanobebe. He never really settled with one type and just wanted boob!

Avatar

I’m slightly confused by all the people saying mam has lots of parts to wash up? It’s the lid, the teat and the bottle. How are any of the others doing less than that? Genuinely curious!

Avatar

@Hannah I think its the bottom part aswell i had dr brown with my first they was worse lol xx

Avatar

Some aren't complete bottles and u can remove the seal and bottom of the bottle but I find this easier than trying to use a bottle brush to scrub right to the bottom!

Avatar

Oh I see. I think I remember seeing ones that now! We bought a set of the glass ones before baby was born and they were very simple. We didn’t need them much until he was over a year old as I BF, so washing up wasn’t a stress. They just go in the dishwasher now - I don’t miss sterilising!

Avatar

are they any good i have been looking at them

Avatar

We used the wide neck glass Dr Browns ones with my first. As they’re glass we were able to store them and use them again with this baby 👍

Avatar

I used mam with my first and I’ll be using them with my 2nd, no issues at all with them. I had to buy some size 0 teats and the size 1s they come with were too fast at first so just check the teat size that comes with the bottles you’re buying too. Also I’d say don’t go by age on the teats. My 18 month old still has a bedtime bottle and she’s never moved past size 2 teat x

Avatar

yes they’re brilliant. No discolouration, pretty much look like when we got them other than a few scratches to the pictures. Good in any steriliser and they’re very sturdy too (I was worried about breakages but not even a chip yet and were two year into using them). Very easy to quickly heat/cool as glass is more conductive.

We’re also just a bit anxious about plastic and while I know all the bottles on the market are very safe we just wanted to eliminate it from his drinking bottles entirely.

We’ll use them again for this one.

Minbie! Best one I found with my first

Avatar

We used mam bottles last time and definitely will again! So easy to sterilise in the microwave and never had any reflux or colic problems

Avatar

We used mam 4 years ago with our daughter and she suffered quite bad colic and reflux but never put it down to the bottle! After researching this time round I’ve found out how much mam bottles can cause colic etc. I’ve bought the Philips avent ones as there’s been such good reviews on them

Used mam the first time and will again this time! x

8 week old in sleeping bag for first time as big enough! Do you feed your child in the night whilst in the sleeping bag or taken them out, feed then transfer back to sleeping bag before putting down?

Rant/WWYD

My sister (youngest, 24) has two kids, 4 & 1, and i (oldest, 30) just have my one who’s 6mo old right now, so i ask her for advice or call her to vent about things sometimes. Well im tired of her turning around and telling my other family members that I’m “losing my sh*t.” Literally have not lost my sh*t nor have i ever freaked out to her about my baby, i just call her to talk and tell her what stage my baby is in or talk through how im feeling, but she chooses to tell people that im like a complete nutcase or something which worries me that my family is going to start being judgmental about me as a mother or looking at me funny like I’m some fragile ticking time bomb.

What would you do in this situation? I’m already pretty much decided that I’ll stop telling her anything about my struggles, but I’m almost at the point where i feel like it should be confronted because she, of all people, should understand what I’m going through.

Not drinking

I’m going crazy. Baby born at 2.26kg. Slow to put on weight. This last week hasn’t put on any. Been trying to feed him at night and he’s not interested at all. Fast asleep. During day he will have 5 minute gulps and that’s it. He don’t cry for milk. I’ve got to keep offering to him. I try to offer it every hour but I don’t know what I’m doing. HV said nutrition comes after 5 minutes so I should pump first and then give him. I find it so hard. I tried to pump one boob nothing came. The other abit came. Tried giving him express he’s not interested in that too. Sometimes he will go for a longer a feed but not long at all. He’s 4 months and is currently 5.46kg. I have no family or friend support here and wish I had a cook, cleaner and nanny to help with everything so I can concentrate on the little one. I don’t know what’s wrong with him but I’m loosing it. It doesn’t help that my also stressed generally about my relationship and life circumstances. Any advice that will work. Any comfort you can give. I’m fed up. Is this regression - not feeding. He’s fast fast asleep. I’ve been trying to push the nipple in but that mouth is closed shut. I took some clothes off. Changed his nappy but he’s still asleep. Please help

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
