For mothers of very active toddlers, what do you do when you go out?

My baby hates high chairs and refuses to be in one. She also does not care for crayons. She just wants to walk around and do her own thing. Is anyone else in a similar situation? What do you do? At this point, we just take turns eating.

We take turns and he sits on my lap. Lately, he’s been asking for his own big boy chair and a booster seat seems to be working.

I really only go to restaurants I can get in and out fast. If there’s too much waiting or idle time, I know it’s going to be a mess.

We pack snacks and that usually helps. We try and bring a busy board, or some toys they haven’t seen. I have two toddlers. One of us will walk around until the food comes so when we sit, it’s not like we’ve been sitting long. We ask for the check ahead of time so we can leave when we need to.

what booster seat did you get? I am about to buy one

I just use the ones at the restaurant or the regular chairs themselves.

I bring snacks and toys. I try to get a booth and put him on the inside and play or snack as long as we can. Then it’s generally a walk around the restaurant if food hasn’t come yet. Generally after that he’ll get in the high chair for maybe 10 mins if he likes the food. I’ve also used restaurant boosters seats too. Sometimes it works better

Agree with others - snacks and some toys. My daughter plays with the crayons for 5 min tops. We always end up taking turns walking around with her. Try to eat at places that are quick and you can also request they bring your child’s food out first.
