Nipt testing?

Can someone tell me their experience with doing nipt testing? Is it safe? How accurate is it? It’s my first baby, I’m anxious to know the gender so I can start buying things and planning our baby shower. I’m currently 9wks and 5 days, my first official prenatal appointment will be May 27th. You think the doctor may ask if I want to do the testing for gender then?

Its completely safe. I had it with my first and it was accurate and I'll be having it done with my second. Its just a blood draw test. If your doctor doesn't ask, I suggest mentioning it.

It’s completely safe just a normal blood draw it’s supposed to be 99% accurate I had one with my last pregnancy and I already have this one scheduled for early June

Yes, it is safe! I just had my NIPT test done. They just take some blood from your arm and send it out to a lab. It will tell you if your baby/babies have any chromosome disorders and may even tell you the gender! I think it’s absolutely worth it. I had mine done on Tuesday and I’m waiting anxiously for the results.

Yep! Just a blood draw and then wait for lab results. It made me feel better to know baby is low risk for chromosomal disorders, and confirmed gender that i got in my sneak peak!

I just got my call to make an appointment this morning. And boy! The lab physician threw so much information at me in one phone call by the time she asked if I had any questions, I didn’t. I’m excited to confirm what I already know. Happy/Healthy baby! But I also don’t wanna know the sex right now.
