I liked my wrap actually for the newborn stage the best. It was so comfy!
I liked baby bjorn much more. So easy to put on and get the baby in an out. I have baby bjorn mini an baby bjorn free and I liked both. I have ergo but never got used to wearing it
I love my baby bjorn! The stretchy wrap is also amazing for the newborn stages - the only thing that keeps my 6 week old calm is being in a wrap/carrier - so I pretty much live in these right now
Love my ergobaby and have no issues putting it on by myself. Super comfortable
Honestly I loved the wrap at first then I ordered the mom cozy carrier and love it! My lo was small and she fit just perfect in it at 6 weeks and the pouch is adjustable. Also want to mention the padding is great!!
For newborn stages you would be best with a soft stretchy wrap or a close caboo or ergobaby embrace, depends how much tying/buckling you want to do. Ergobaby is a better position for babies hips and lasts longer.
@Ellie I presume you're talking about doing up the back clip? You can have the back clip done up permanently and kind of flip it over your head, then just do the side straps. Or the t shirt method where everything stays buckled then you pull tight
I’ve got neither but I’ve been in a Babywearing group on Facebook and the sling consultants there seem to rate the ergo over babybjorn!
We used the baby bjoern mini for my first and then switched to ergo360 when she got bigger. I found the mini super easy to get her in and out of, but all the weight is on your shoulders so it only really works while they are little and not too heavy. That said, she absolutely lived in it for the first few months (as she completely hated the bassinet/pram). I then actually took her to John Lewis to try out the baby carriers when she got too heavy and found the ergo360 the best. All weight on the hip band so much easier to carry and it really held her well. It is slightly more tricky to do up but fine once you get them hang of it. She then lives in that carrier until she was about 1 and finally somewhat accepted being in the pram! Not sure if we could have just used the 360 from birth, I know some people that did.
Ergoababy is incredible! Once you find your way it’s so easy to put on yourself and it’s so supportive. Still using mine with my 18month old
We had the babybjorn move and hated it. My son kept sliding down in it no matter how i adjusted the buckles, so I was never able to get a good fit until he was 6 months old and was able to forward face in it. But then obviously we had the issue that everywhere online people say it's not good to have a baby forward face in a carrier for more than 30 minutes, so in the end we hardly used the carrier. We were lucky my son didn't mind the pram!
I had a babybjorn in the newborn stage but changed to ergobaby when my LO was bigger. There are so many options of putting the ergobaby to find the easier was for you, I put it as x straps and it was miles easier than the h straps.
We had the BabyBjorn Harmony and loved it! We also used a Boba stretchy wrap for the newborn stage
Baby Bjorn is a narrow based carrier, so it's not the greatest for kiddo, sorry to burst your bubble Kids should be able to be in m shape and baby Bjorn basically needs to have what's called a scarf back to even get an m shape Classic example of cheap easy.... But no good

Beco Gemini is good Ergobaby embrace is a newborn only Honestly, ring sling or ergo embrace
@Suzanne forward facing is awkward for baby and you positioning wise, but as long as baby meets milestones, they could be back carried rather than facing out. Fwiw, I never faced my son out in a carrier.
Love our Ergobaby Omni Breeze, have used it from newborn, easy to put on/take off alone and comfortable to wear
Soft and stretchy wrap for newborns. Definitely visit a sling library to get the best options for you and a fit check also xx
To add to my earlier comment, I have an ergo baby omni carrier. I liked it a lot for when my daughter was in the 9+ months and up.
We used a wrap mostly for newborn stage, but for carrier we have the ergonomic baby omni breeze and 100% love it and would recommend it!
Thank you everyone for the comments! I’m a bit worried with the wraps that I won’t get it right position wise being a ftm 😅 but given me a lot to think about thank you!
@Grace Join babywearing UK group on FB, they'll fit check your wrap and offer advice 😊 very friendly place
@Charley thank you, I’ll search it up! X
I don't know about babybjorn, but ergobaby is awful. There is nothing "ergo" about it. As someone with shoulder issues (easily dislocated) it's impossible to do up alone. I really like the diono carus. Comes with a diaper bag attachment. Easy to get on and off alone. We used it with our son until he was about 2.
