So this is not my first baby, but I'm curious on how other mothers are keeping your baby's umbilical cord from snagging or protected ? He's 2 days old ....

I would fold the diaper down, soft clothing, and was just extra careful when rubbing his belly or putting him on his tummy to burp and stuff, it did bleed a little at times (doc said normal as long as it’s not flowing out) but I just wiped around it, kept it clean and dry , it’s healed just fine ☺️
I just had my first baby boy as well 11 days ago! I also tuck the diaper under it and go around it for bathing/cleaning
I use cloth diapers that I snap down into a U shape and then leave a little looser than normal. I also leave him in just a diaper till it falls off. 🫶🏻
