Has anyone on here done the milk ladder with their LO. Am not at the milk stage yet. Just a bit un sure what to do as I can’t remember what the person said at class. Any information would be much appreciated thanks.

Yes! I went to a dietitian and she gave me the protocol. It is not working for me. You just have to keep trying and see what happens. Some babies don’t get over the allergy until a certain age so it takes a bit of trial And error

@Julia this is completely different to what I was told. It takes 5 months for my mill ladder to be complete. So don’t think it’s same

@Zoe I was told it takes as long as it needs to take as it’s not a race. Some dieticians do say to take a break in between of symptoms. It might depend on the severity of symptoms. How long were you told to keep your little one dairy free?x

@Julia it’s a month on each stage with my plan. They say as long as no reactions etc it’s 5 months. My LO was dairy free from 4 months to 14 months so 10 months. But I don’t have a dietitian it was a group class at my local hospital. Her symptoms before weren’t bad but got told they could change and not be the same as before. X

Sorry ladies my phone changed what I had wrote. Am wondering about the last stage the cows milk stage. 🙈x

🙋🏻‍♀️ my lb is currently on the milk ladder. We started at 10months as per dietician instructions and failed miserably all his symptoms came back and it was not fun! I waited until he turned 13months and then started again and slowly started like literally 1/4 biscuit 3days then increased 1/4every 3 days until he was able to have the amount needed to pass! We then stayed on that level as he started teething and had a cold etc so just wanted that to clear before starting again. Now we are on step 2 and we are on half muffin- we are only a week in and it seems to be ok! He is just 16months. I’m literally taking it as slow as possible because I don’t see any point in rushing and upsetting his belly/skin! I have the same ladder as @Julia I used a shop brand biscuit as my lb refused to touch the ones they recommend to bake but he is eating the muffins that you make!

@Zoe We had to be dairy free until she was 1 year old from 5.5 months old (4.5 corrected). I wonder if it’s worth getting a referral to the dietitian as I think they tailor it to everyone’s needs based on previous symptoms. 5 months might work for some but not necessarily for another child🤔x

Or speak with your health visitor as they can be quite helpful as well x

@Claire ohh 10 months no we got told 12 months + before even thinking about it. We are on stage 3 on my ladder. My LO had been fine with all her things. She has had cold etc but been fine. Unfortunately I don’t have time to bake/make things from scratch wish I did. Just don’t have time now a days x

@Julia haha. The HVs here not so much. And would also help if I had one and not just a bank HV. X
