I’m really struggling with the fact that the father of my baby has rejected him. My baby is now 6 weeks old, and his dad hasn’t even met him, hasn’t shown any interest since the birth, and has completely detached—ignoring all of my messages. Has anyone else been through something similar? I’d really appreciate hearing what helped you cope or move forward.

The thing that fit me to move forward was leaving him alone. You can't force someone to care or have a relationship with your baby. It sounds like dad is a POS but continuing to chase him is just wasting your energy. If he isn't reaching out asking for updates don't give them to him, you have plenty on your hands with a new born . Make it up to him to check in if he doesn't he's the one losing out. No dad is better than a shitty dad that openly doesn't want you.
I pretend my bd doesn't even exist, if he wanted to put the effort if he would but mine stopped asking for updates within a week and then when I stopped sending them unprompted I just never heard from him again. I feel bad for my baby not having a good dad but I'd rather her life hand keeps who actually care about her and want to be around her than add the emotional strain of a dad who is inconsistent at best and had to be forced into even that

I'm sorry that's probably not as nicely it will written as I normally word this but it's nearly 7 am and i haven't slept yet 🤣 I've been a single mum since 7 weeks pp (now 8 months) and my life is a lot better for it, especially once I let him go. He wasn't going to put in any effort for her so why should I waste my energy on him he's just showing how heartless he really is. I just put all th energy into bubs instead and we have the best bond 🥰
If he wants a relationship with your baby he would need to work for it and he doesn't sound willing to do that but you can't put in the work for him or force a relationship, it just doesn't work. You're best creating a little bubble for you and baby and keep your focus on looking after the 2 of you

Mines too boo my baby boy is 6 months have not seen him since I was 9 weeks pregnant

Hi I don’t have any advice for now but my dad never cared. My mum went on to marry a wonderful man who became an outstanding stepfather to me and my brother. I’m a mum now and he’s now an amazing grandfather. Your baby will love you like no other and will appreciate you. It’s an honour to have a mum like you. I know it’s hard right now but I promise you from your child perspective they will appreciate how you loved them they will know. My biological farther I think thought wouldn’t be hurt by it and he tried to swan in when I was an adult. Nah I wasn’t interested just like he wasn’t for me.

I've chosen to be a solo mum for the start as I would rather a happy single parent home, than a fractured tense one that has drama. I know all situations are different. But think what is best for your mental health, and what's best for your little too.
If the father then comes back, then ideal, but try not to force a relationship. I know things may seem easier that way, but it possibly won't ♥️ sending love x

I have been through something similar and the best thing I did was to be a solo parent and not have anything to do with the father of my baby

I also have decided to go for solo parenting. The only way he hears about me is through 3rd parties. You need to be strong enough to realise that you cannot force someone to be a dad. I always think karma will catch them at some point but it is not your job to chase him or any other man. He doesn’t want to? Then good, he made you a favour. If he ever comes back pls do not have pity on him. Let him go through court even if it means to be able to see your baby. Be rigid and unmovable. If he is abusive report any incident to the police

definitely agree
