Lo is 4 months and has his TT procedure tomorrow

I'm so worried that because he is a little older he's really going to feel the pain. He's done great so far being ebf but feeding takes atleast an hr still and he's so gassy. The main reason for getting it sorted though is he can't latch to any bottles and he gets so angry. I really need to get him on a bottle ready for nursery. I'm just so worried he's going to hate me. Hes such a happy boy and we seem to have just come out the 4 month regression and now mummies ruining it.

My little boy is 3 and a half months and just had his done, I felt exactly the same as you!! He was absolutely fine though, cried for about 10 seconds and took his bottle after fine. After the bottle it's like he had completely forgotten about it already! He did wake up more that night but that was to be expected, was back to normal the night after 🩵

Is he getting it done laparoscopically?

My LG had hers cut at exactly 4mo. She cried, of course, and it bled loads but a few minutes of sad sniffling on the boob and she was okay. She hated the stretches/exercises we had to do though and being older she was alot stronger/more wriggly which made them difficult to do. It took a good few weeks for a noticeable difference, I was so worried it had reattached because she still wouldn't stick her tongue out but she just needed time to realise her tongue could move more.

My LB had had done at 4 months. To warn you and to be completely honest he screamed a scream that was so awful I will never forget it BUT well within 30 seconds he was latched on to me and I made the word of difference! He showed no signs at all of being pain afterwards. Good luck and let us know how it goes xxx

Ours had it done at 5 months and he barely cried. It's so fast. Wishing you all the best. Make sure you ask all questions you want to know about post-surgery when you're there x
