I’m 4 months postpartum too. No hair loss yet. Taking Pregnacare New mom. Don’t know if it’s because of that 🤷♀️ I asked my doctor what vitamins I should start taking since I was sure I was not going to be able to have a healthy diet with my newborn and some family in the house. Are you taking any vitamins?
Just wanted to jump on here and say me too. I've been taking pregnacare and eating well but I'm still shedding like mad. Worrying that I won't have any left soon! Trying to remember that it's temporary and will grow back🙏❤️
@Abi I definitely feel you about worrying I won't have any left soon. But I've been told by my health visitor it's actually just the hair we gained during pregnancy that's now shedding!
@Joy I’m not but I still have loads of pregnacare ones do you think that would help?
@Chloe interesting! I don't remember it being that thick 😅
@Abi I thought exactly the same 😂 I swear my hair didn't get any thicker during pregnancy, but hell, it certainly feels a lot thinner now! 😂😂
When I spoke to my HV about it I was advised that it’s just all the hair that stopped falling out during pregnancy due to the change of hormones then now that the hormones are shifting back again. It looks like a lot, but it’s just everything that should’ve gone naturally before and that since it’s hormonal, there really isn’t any trick to stop it from happening (annoying, because I definitely feel like I should be bald the amount that I lose..)
@Danielle ohh really! My head did go really thick in pregnancy and same here😂😂
My hair is falling out in clumps, it’s so scary, I’m scared to brush it each time
Knowing it’s the hair that should’ve fallen out already made me feel a little better about it. I’ve just gone back to taking a multivitamin with biotin and keratin included, and then the usual hair care advice of not sleeping on it wet, air drying as much as possible and minimal heat styling (not much time for that anymore anyway!)
@Tayla same here it’s scary I’m always too scared to wash it (I was it once a week and the hair that falls out I’m surprised I’m not bald!) I’ve resorted in putting some rosemary oil and hoping for the best x
Ahh me too. I have bald patches at the front on my hair line. I been sobbing to my husband about it. Typical mens answer it will grow back. The hair is everyone even all over the baby
I truly don’t know 🙈 I have a friend who kept taking her prenatal vitamins after giving birth and she did say she felt her skin different after she stopped them but still got the hair loss thing while taking them. 🤷♀️ Mine are for postpartum specifically. Or maybe my hair just hasn’t started falling yet 🤷♀️
Btw - I have 3 friends with 1 year-olds. They complain the hair they shed started growing back but unevenly 😅 They even joke about how much it sticks out. So - maybe we should just wait it out and get ready for the next problem with it 🫶
Mine is too. I was told rosemary oil, been using it for a couple of weeks but haven't seen any major improvement yet 😔
