C-section recovery and bedside crib

How did everyone position their beside crib following a c-section? Just thinking if it's going to be next to me, it means I'll have to shuffle down the bed to get out, which may be tricky with a healing wound. Or did everyone manage somehow?

I have a next to me I’m 6 weeks postpartum and my daughter Co sleeps with us as it’s a lot easier then pulling myself up every 2 hours

I have it directly next to me by my head, I just pushed it slightly away from the bed so that I could swing my legs round rather than having to shuffle down the bed, seemed to have made it a lot easier this time round! x

I’m 9 days post partum with my second section, babies in a Moses basket next to bed currently, I move it to side, get into bed, then pull it back in towards me. I struggled so badly with first with the next2me as couldn’t do that as that took it all the space x

I slept down stairs on the sofa like as it is loads easier to get off while still healing. If you have a Moses basket try that at the side of your bed, mine seemed a lot smaller than the next to me crib we had

First few weeks I used the Moses basket on its stand. Very lightweight and easy to move so I could get out of bed without shuffling.
First 2 weeks baby slept on my partners side of the bed and he passed her back and forth as needed

We put the next to me on my partners side and he would pass him over to me x

I put it on my husbands side and when baby wakes up I’ll wake my husband to hand baby over and after month or two we went to co sleeping with it being easier

I’m 11 days pp and still on the sofa with my husband and the Moses basket between us. At the start he’d pass baby to me when he needed feeding and now I’m just starting to be able to sit up myself to get my baby. Hoping to be in bed soon!

Like most people, I slept on the sofa and had moses Basket with me. I found it easier to get up and out off. I used my maternity pillow as well to support me, prop me up as the easiest way to sleep for the first week was on my back

I still had the crib next to me but I actually used it to help get me up, use to roll to the side then hold the actually crib to get up.

For the first few weeks, our next too me was on my partners side and he either passed her over, or I got out my side which was a bit easier! Then I had the next to me my side, but I’d have it slightly ajar at the end of the bed, so I had room to move about!

I had a moses basket but I slept with a large cushion from our sofa under my pillow so I was propped up sort of like how you are in a hospital bed and also kept me sleeping comfortably on my back. I just used the bedside table to hold onto to slowly pull myself the rest of the way up to get to baby in the night

Put it on partner's side until you are more comfortable moving. The least he/she can do is hand you over baby 🙂

It was something i hadn't thought about and honestly was so hard. I pushed the bed side crib towards midway down the bed so I could safely roll out of bed on my end but still see her
