Hand Foot Mouth Disease
LO has caught it from the nursery they did send a message out saying it’s going around. Is this normal and how do I help LO? There are a few bumps near the mouth area and on their legs xx

Super normal and very contagious at that’s age.
Lots of cuddles and medicine. Keep liquids up. We had to keep on top of medicine as ours had blisters in her throat.
what medicine did you give?? Just calpol?
It's very very itchy. I caught it myself when working in a nursery. Calamine cream or lotion is supposed to be really good. It feels like your skin is burning. Hope baby gets well soon x
We ended up having give Calpol and ibuprofen.
You can also buy a mouth/throat spray which helps the throat pain and mouth ulcer pain go. It is called benzydamine Hydrochloride, you can get it from a chemist over the counter. It helps numb and stores in the fridge for a year after opening. It will help baby be able to drink and eat. If you get it just clean the nozzle after each use x also don’t force them to eat as it is uncomfortable with HFMD so warm or cold milk, soups etc x
