I spoke to a gp and they say Loratadine is fine
My GP told me lorratadone and ceterizine are fine which you can buy in the supermarket. I also use eyedrops and nasal spray and was told these were fine even when I was pregnant.
My GP sent me this link so I could decide: https://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/factsheet/antihistamines/
I haven't needed to take any yet but I usually take cetirizine. Don't find Loratidine very effective. I believe both are fine. I didn't need any whilst pregnant either thankfully. I think some years I have it worse.
Thank you all. I've been to the pharmacy for other issues and they always sent me to the GP so I guess in the end I will just go and consult them to be safe
Get the doctors to give you a prescription as the pharmacist will advise not to take them if you’re breastfeeding as they carry a warning for it. However the GP can prescribe some that the NHS recommend when breastfeeding. Just had this issue with antihistamines. Pharmacist sent me to the GP. GP prescribed me some but advised that all antihistamines will transfer to breastmilk (very small amount) and that baby might be drowsy because of this
