Seems like it’s just the roof for now, and that they’ve evacuated everyone!
No, but I live right next to it. It got put out very quickly & looks to be quite isolated. Firefighters were just walking around on the roof, so hopefully minimal damage. So far no fatalities or even casualties to be heard of. Hopefully it stays that way 🤞🏽
You reckon scans will be cancelled
I’m in Childrens hospital and you can see the roof. I saw the smoke and saw it quickly disappear. There will be contingency at the BRI & Children’s if needed I’m sure
I rang my midwives and they said Level E (where scans are, and can’t recall if central delivery suite or midwife led unit are also on the same floor?) was evacuated, but they’ve started letting people back in now as the fire was on the roof. They advised to still call CDS if needed and that they’ll advise if you need to be redirected to another hospital
So the fire was by the scan room?
@Emma no sounds like it was isolated to the roof, I think she mentioned Level E as that’s the main level people tend to go to - I know scans and antenatal care are on the floor and I have a feeling either central delivery suite or the midwife unit are also on that floor, but I can’t remember which!
Right I see hopefully it will be ok
Solar panels
