I'm in a similar boat. I have to check my blood sugar and I also hate needles. I work in a clinic and will poke kids all day but I cringe every time I do it to myself UGH. My car team said that they can order me a wearable meter so I won't have to keep poking myself but it's $80 a month out of pocket.

omg that sounds much better! I wonder if insurance would cover

Insurance does not cover the wearable unless you're already on insulin medication. You can talk to your care team, who sees you for your blood sugar, and ask them about pricing for a wearable. There's different pricing depending on the brand. The cheapest my care team found was $35 for one (2weeks).

oh that's unfortunate, is it for all insurance do you know? I just see my ob

I'm almost 100% sure on this policy for all insurance because the Rx for wearable is approved when blood sugar isn't very stable after being on medication. I work for a major hospital so I see how insurance works on the back end.

awe that sucks I'd still pay just because this is not it 😫

I feel you! I'm gonna cave in at my next appointment and have them order me one 🫣

me too! This will be game changer even if it gets expensive
