Clicky mums
How do you deal with clicky mums? I’m part of an NCT group which we joined last summer and all started out fine, but over the last month or 2 I feel really pushed out 🙃
I’m not one for big groups anyway and much prefer 2/3 people max 🤣 when we do meet up I’m always sat there in silence or at the back of the walk because I’m just not included.
We went for a walk this week and I just wanted to turn around and go home. Pretty sure they wouldn’t have even noticed.
I don’t even know if anyone can help, I guess I just wanted to vent

Sorry this happened to you! I agree this is how groups of women can be. I just left a class with mums in it like that. I didn't even let them have chance to leave me out as I noticed them doing it to someone else so I left the group chat and they were super nice the next time I went. I just said hi and kept to myself. They're not the kind of people that I want around if they're not self aware and inclusive as adults. It's hard if you feel you haven't many people to spend time with on maternity but I'm sure if you joined some other classes or reached out on here you could meet some really nice people xx
I can really relate to this, it took until my son was almost 3 to be happy to let those friendships fade. Unfortunately just because you have babies around the same time doesn’t necessarily mean that you have much more in common? Try to find ‘your people’ and meet up with one or two people to allow you to speak and become part of the conversation and feel more valued. It hurt me for a while to feel left out but I definitely felt better for distancing myself in the long run
Think this happens a lot. I went to playgroups at churches where I live and there’s a good mix of people. They are all super friendly and the volunteers are amazing too
