I didn’t realize how hard it was gonna be trying to find a balance between bio daughter and step daughter . I hate the struggle of wanting to be able to do all these things as a family and then having to postpone or cancel . I hate the guilt that I feel wanting to still do things with my daughter . I hate that I’m always stuck in the middle . If I do things with my daughter I’m an AH. If I constantly wait for step daughter or work around last minute changes then my daughter gets the short end of the stick . I love both kids . This is all so hard .

Im sorry your going through this momma. I want to be the first to say as I see alot of these post, but you are NOT a bad person for having a life and going on adventures with your daughter even when step daughter isnt there. You can go on outings and adventures with just bio daughter when step isnt around and when you do have step daughter then go on adventures when you have her also. You will always do more things with your bio daughter bc you have her more then your step daughter. That doesn't make you a bad person. That just means when you do have her that you still do fun things with her. Me and my husband always on adventure on the weekends with my bio sonand not SK cause we dont have them until the summer. But thats not gonna stop us from living and having experiences with our son together. And during summer we are going on a Florida trip with the SK and they'll have the best time there.

You got to live your guys life still. It doesn't stop just bc the SK isnt there. But when do have SD still go out on adventures. And DO NOT ever let anyone tell you your doing wrong for letting your bio child experience things even if SD isnt there cause thats not fair for her. Your SD has another house, another family to take her on adventure... Your bio daughter only has the one. So dont stop having fun and living. Just always remember yeah the SD isnt with you guys but shes out having fun with her other family also. 🤷🏼♀️

It’s okay mom! You’re doing the best you can given the circumstances and that’s really all you can do. Control what you can, and the things you cant control are just part of blended families. Kids just wanna know that ur there to support and care for them, a safe space. So that doesn’t mean you have to do the most outings wise, quality time is great too. Sometimes reassuring ur kids is that little extra they need. But ur not doing anything wrong, just doing what you can, and it’s hard for kids to see the bigger picture 🫶

I feel your pain, even if you have more than one biological kid, you will still have to juggle and prioritize. Don't feel bad. Just include ur SD in the plans when she is around and do things with your daughter. I hope you find a balance. Good luck
