What age did you start Ms. Rachel

I don’t want to cause any arguments or controversy but I am a first time mom and very curious when people started letting their baby watch the show Ms. Rachel. My baby is 4 months old and I thought it could be something he could watch for 10 min while I shower or eat food quick but I have seen a lot of opinions online about this … just want your experience. Thank you

2 years old with the exception of a long road trip at 18 months. I put my newborn in her swing so I can eat. You could also use a bouncer right outside the shower if needed.

My daughter is 3 months I put on the baby sign language

I started with hey bear the dancing fruit

Never shown my kids ms Rachel. I wouldn't recommend showing tv to a baby that young. Watching you is better for them, it doesn't take a lot to entertain a baby

I personally think they are too young for screen time at that age! It’s a great time to start introducing independent play if you haven’t yet. Let them lay on their play mat and look at toys while you are nearby or sit in bouncer with some toys! Usually if you place them to play independently after some connection time (like feeding or snuggling) they will be able to entertain themselves for like 10-15min!

Do what you have/ want to do. 10 minutes aren’t gonna hurt. Especially if it’s ms. Rachel. I will say if you want to introduce a screen this early do the tv with a play mat and stick to low stimulating shows!

I like the recommendations about having your baby sitting outside the shower while you’re in it. I’ve done that with my daughter who’s 3.5 months and she was fine. I also sometimes talked to her while showering. I’ve also taken a shower with her so it’s a bonding experience. She seemed to enjoy being included and it wasn’t stressful for me. If for some reason these tips don’t work for you, do you have a musical toy your baby likes that can play while you shower. I’ve done that as well.

There is research that it is way to young for screens. They recommend no screens under 3 years old. There’s mri evidence that it affects and slows development so we have not at all.

My baby is 3 months he dosent watch her everyday but he is teething and fussy so ill put her on for a little bit maybe for literally 5-10 minutes he loses interest fast but it will calm him down but i feel like hes actually learning he tries to wave hi, i also put on mrs vale like a spanish mrs rachel and he now “waves” when i say hola

There’s research that suggests it’s not the best for babies this young, but at the same time I feel that if you have a good balance and aren’t exposing him to too much or it isn’t too stimulating a few minutes now and then won’t cause extreme detriment. My baby was born February first and for about 2 weeks I’ve been letting her watch ms Rachel or dorys reef cam (on Disney plus; it’s just the fish from finding Nemo swimming and no dialogue) for up to 20 mins a day while I do things like eat and shower or do dishes if she’s too fussy to play with her toys or sit in her swing! Sometimes i prop her up over her boppy while she watches so she can get some tummy time in at the same time !
