Chickenpox or hand foot and mouth?

But she has red spots on her belly, thigh, face, arm just not lots of them, I sent the doctors a photo yesterday and he said that they were too widespread for HF and M 🤦🏼‍♀️

They look like chickenpox to me. The only reason I say that is because my son had chickenpox a few weeks ago and the spots your daughter has on her chest look exactly like his did. He did have HFM when he was around 15 months old and although it didn’t affect his feet he had what looked like red, dry and crusty rash around his mouth, red marks on his hand and arms and his bum was covered in red blotches too x

yeah it’s very confusing because she’s not itchy, no temperature just these spots!
But the doctors looked at the pictures I sent and said it’s most likely chicken pox 😅 xx

I think it’s so hard to tell and I think that’s why some people think they might have had chicken pox twice. When my boy had HFM the doctor initially told me it was chickenpox then later said it wasn’t because the nursery announced an outbreak of HFM. I will try and find the picture of the HFM to show you x

this is what her spots on her body look like, she hasn’t got a rash around her mouth, she only has that cluster of spots on her palm 😊 Thankyou for your help, typical that the doctors are closed all weekend now xx

I work in a nursery and I’ve seen so many children with spots across their whole body with HF and M. It’s so hard to tell 😅

it is so difficult because one of her teachers kids had chicken pox last week so there is the possibility she has got it 🤣

Yeah you literally never know! My daughter got chicken pox when she was 15 months old and we hadn’t been anywhere for her to even get it! We didn’t even know anyone who had it 😂
