What does everyone do for constipation?

My little girl has been constipated since Thursday. I was told to give 3 meals a day and without water by a health professional when I had previously only given 1 meal a day with water and she went to the loo fine. She's now constipated and in pain. I also am wondering if weetabix can cause constipation? I feel like it's all my fault.

I would try prunes, that’s helped my little one in the past.

Too much weetabix isn't great for helping to go to the loo .. I would also recommend prunes ...helped my 2 when needed xx

Prunes or pears x

Why not water? I thought they can have sips with meals. Maybe try with water at meals again if it is possible? Sorry for being ignorant of health professional has advised otherwise X

Is there a reason they told you not to give her water?

I think water is really good for constipation. My LO feel so much better since start to eat and drink water. Also can help pear, spinach, prune, oats and wholemeal products

I suggest putting some prunes into boiled water and letting it sit for 3hours then putting the water into a bottle with a teat for her to drink, she’s more likely to drink the prune water from the teat and even though it’s not a good option long term helping relieve her constipation is better. I work with children so have tried this many times and it works really well x

Prunes, pears and apples. And water if you can

Pears, and as much water as they want. Plus make the formula a bit weaker.

Prunes really help and I try to encourage sips of water throughout the day, not only does it help with constipation but also dehydration in the warm weather. (Looks outside to the rain 😏) but it has been warm

Fruits beginning with P help and also give her sips of water with meals. I'm not sure why your healthcare person said not to but water helps keep everything wetter so to speak.

Lots of water and prune purée
