Potty training

I’ve been trying to get my son to use the potty since 18 months old he will be Turing 3 soon and be starting nursery and I just want him trained but he’s absolutely petrified of Weeing anywhere but his nappy. As soon as his nappy is off he’s begging for it back on he will start getting really upset if I try leave it off, I did bribe him on the potty once and he held his wee for ages until he couldn’t no more and when it started coming out he was crying saying oh no it’s coming out. He’s basically scared of weeing unless it’s in his nappy, I just don’t know what to do anymore I feel like I’ve tried everything!

Try making the process of getting to the potty fun. When I was potty training, I did lots of let’s stomp like a Dino or let’s crawl to the bathroom lol. Took emphasis off of going yo the potty. Big celebrating and talking It up when she went. Social stories before , videos etc. talking It up and showing that it’s not scary

We have just potty trained by daughter and waiting for her to be ready is far easier than trying to potty training when she wasn't ready. For the last year ive asked on and off if she wants to try, we managed 1 wee on the potty at Christmas and since then has screamed blue murder every time its mentioned. Last week at nursery they were doing hee nappy and she just jumped up and declared she wanted to use the potty. She hasn't had a nappy on since. Give him time im sure he woll come around
