Does anyone know if taking progesterone can make your LH Spike?

I’ve been tracking my cycle and thought I had ovulated so started taking progesterone 4dpo and then just had another LH peak? Does anyone know if the progesterone could cause this?

Why did you take the progesterone. You shouldn’t take it until you confirm you are pregnant because it can affect ovulation.

just took it 4dpo before and was successful. Some places recommend this

My doctor recommended taking progesterone beginning the day my lh spiked so it wouldn't interfere but may help lengthen my luteal phase. And I took it my first trimester with both pregnancies once we conceived but I don't think it impacted hcg either outside of supporting the placenta growth
