My father in law rarely visits. My mother in law passed away last year. She would have loved to visit, and I’d love her to be able to. Just to put things into perspective, you never know when the last visit will be. X
Every week usually (unless something comes up) xx
We don't have set times it just depends on what we and them are doing. If your comfortable/happy with every week do it? If it's too much limit it!
I have to go to my in-laws so they’ve only met baby once and he’s 9 weeks, my own mum and dad have only met him once as they live far away so it’s personal choice really. I quite often go weeks where no one comes to visit
We don’t have set times. They just say if they want to pop over
@everyone Thank you so much everyone! Can i ask how long they usually stay for? I am 4 weeks post partum and breastfeeding constantly with newborn windows being small and cluster feeding etc. FIL wouldn’t like it if I breastfed infront of him even if covered and they ignore cu tired or hungry cues so I’m left with over hungry and over tired baby every time and aren’t happy that they not there for long although have been visiting 30 mins to 1 hour. I have to sit there and watch all cues and even when baby cry’s they don’t give baby back so makes me uncomfortable to have them around and very draining as they unsettled for ages
I would just say that baby needs feeding or seems tired so could you just have them back for a second , then go out the room and feed if they wouldn’t like you doing it infront of them/you don’t want to. 😊
I would just feed in front of them, it’s your home and your baby needs feeding so they either accept your choice of feeding or they leave when he needs feeding x
