I need someone’s opinion.
If your partners “father figure” came and spent the weekend with you and you wake up before your partner. You bring your toddler out and see his father figure on your couch in a blanket. When he gets up he’s in his boxers only. He didn’t used to like you so you feel like your relationship is base line keep things blunt because he’s super judgmental and turns things around. How would you respond?

Tell him it’s fucking inappropriate for a toddler to see him in his boxers and out of respect for you and your husband to keep his clothes on and not to mention you’re on the couch in a blanket. If he wants to do that, he can catch himself a hotel. Because to be honest, if your husband respected you enough, he wouldn’t allow anybody to sleep on your couch in his boxers because not only are you his wife, but you are a female and no one should ever have to see that.

Well, imo even if the relationship wasnt strained between yall, thats still another man in just his underwear in a common area of your house. Thats disrespectful and disgusting. I'd tell him he's not allowed walking around or being in common areas with just his underwear. Absolutely disrespectful. Especially since your there and you have a toddler!

I'd tell him it's inappropriate and to put some clothes on. Then I'd tell my partner to fix up and instil boundaries with his family too.

I’d talk to my partner first, my family can’t even wear shorts to short outside of our rooms. Now at my partners side of the family him hisself will walk around in his boxers with the whole family. I use to tell him to put some shorts on but he didn’t see a problem nor did his family but he does respect mine and keep clothes on outside of our room

He needs a room
he slept in our spare room. But him n I don’t have a relationship really. It’s always been awkward and no real convos really. He told my partner that I was super rude and disrespectful to him because 2 months postpartum we traveled to go visit them and I sternly asked him to hand me the diaper bag. And I called him out on something in front of this father figure. It was uncomfortable for me and I wasn’t sure if I should call him out or have my partner.
yes whenever I have guests over I always change out of my actual sleep clothes and put a bra on.

Sticking up for yourself is important especially if your spouse isn’t going to it
yeah now their relationship is strained. So I don’t think it’ll happen anytime soon. My spouse is a people pleaser and I’m not. This has been the only time I haven’t called someone out. He just made me uncomfortable with prior comments about me and so I always feel like I’m walking on eggshells around him to avoid those comments.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. In- laws can be hard to deal with when we are who we are
