So two weeks ago I got told I had quite a bit of protein in my urine which is a sign of preeclampsia, I’m sure they told me that anything 30 or below means I have it and my levels were at 31 so I was right on the borderline… today I had a message to say that my protein has gone from 31 to 36 and they’ve spoken to an obstetric doctor and they want me to have more bloods and urine taken? Now I’m confused because surely if it was getting higher than 30 then that’s a good sign? Can someone explain it to me and tell me what the levels should be and what levels would be bad because it’s now stressing me out and making me panic a little bit 😅 thanks in advance and hopefully this post makes sense xx

I haven’t had this, but isn’t it less than 30 is normal?

that’s what I’m confused about it because I’m sure my midwife told me less that 30 was bad when it came to protein 🥲

I’ve just googled it and it looks like it is less than 30 is normal :/ I’d call and ask them again

Brilliant 🥲 okay thank you so much!!

No- more than 30 is bad. If it’s going up it’s a bad thing unfortunately

From what I remember they look at protein and creatinine and do the ratio and thats the important bit. Have they told you about this?

Anything below 30 is normal, so you were on the cusp last time at 31, now you’re 36 it’s gone up which isn’t normal and above the 30 threshold!

no they haven’t…

okay thank you

do you have access to your tests online? Can you see protein and creatinine as well? It might be that its already the ratio they are giving you but worth checking ❤️
