Thoughts lately… first off I’m proud I did this all on my own. I successfully have finished rent at my old place and paid 2/3 for my new place deposit while supporting two children with groceries and a 9 month old so diapers and clothes. It’s one thing to be a single mom. But to be a single mom in a relationship with the father who does nothing is a total new kind of heartbreak. I am willingly choosing NOW to do it alone but that was after cooking and cleaning a day after birth, and for the rest of my maternity leave, being alone to balance it all, and no support. He married another girl who claims I “have it all” with him. Well go ahead sweetie. Idk something about single mom hood when you’ve had that babies dad next to you in bed doing nothing hits different. I’d choose this a thousand times over. I’ll be lonely but not THAT lonely…I’ll get sad but not THAT sad. I feel bad she will go through what I did but when I tried to make it clear I was told “you’re a b*** and trying to break us up” so go ahead, sweetie. She can’t cook doesn’t like to drive doesn’t like to pump gas but yes, go ahead. Meanwhile they both lost their jobs and won’t have a home for at least another month. I have my home tho and my kids do too. What does court think about that? That was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced…postpartum alone while the man who claimed to love you sat beside me and abandoned me all at once. Nothing will compare to the scar that left on my heart.

Good job putting YOU and your kiddos first. 👏
I know exactly how you feel, it’s a truly lonely experience, but makes you realize that we actually don’t need a partner who was never an actual partner.
thank you I’m BARELY hanging on until July 1 when it’s actually time for me to live in the new apartment. He doesn’t realize how hard it is to do everything alone AND watch him every single day devote more to another girl than his own child. It’s like a constant heartbreak for my kid and is making me so sad

I think in many ways my leaving (eventually) forced my daughter’s father to step up and do more. It took years for him to get sober, and now he has partial custody. He’ll never be the father that she deserves, unfortunately, but he definitely does more for her now. 🫶
I wish we single moms had a way to form a community to support better each other, but I have no doubt that you are capable and going to do the best for your kids! ❤️
