This wasn’t an argument because ultimately idc. Lol.

So my husband has a friend that we have hung out with (with his wife) about three times (besides our wedding) in the past 5+ years. Guys are weird. These two hardly speak (not even average of once a month) and don’t hang out….. but im glad they still consider themselves close friends. Anyways, he told my husband they have a gift for us. What rubbed me the wrong way was when my husband mentioned we should drive to them one night this week. Thats 30 minutes away from our house and a grand total of an hour from the hospital. My due date is tomorrow. My husband thinks since they got us something that we should go see them. I feel like they should make the effort to see us…. Or a halfway compromise. But just curious what another woman would be of the opinion of.

Personally I’d make arrangements for after I give birth when I felt ready, I don’t see the rush. The present isn’t going anywhere.

Hard pass for me. I was telling my husband to start being prepared for the call I’m in labour from 37w when I finished up work. I basically didn’t leave my house/suburb from the time I started Mat leave until i had the baby. With the exception of antenatal apts or when I was out with my husband. Either way, heading away from the hospital would have been further than the bottom of my list of things I wanted to do.

Priotize you and your pregnancy first. Rest and take it easy.
They are full grown adults that can wait or come visit you both. Not worth putting others wants before your needs.

My husband has a friend that told us he have a gift for us (for the baby) 3 years ago. We still havent received that gift 😆 sometimes its just something people say to appear thoughtful. I wouldnt drive just to get a gift. If they actually have one for you, they should drive and give it to you not the other way around.
