has anyone else felt like this?
i’ve been with my partner since i was 16, we have a baby together, we live in a beautiful area in a 2 bed. i feel so so greatful for the life i’ve got.
but sometimes i kind of regret it? i don’t know if that’s the word. sometimes i feel like i made a mistake committing to someone and having a baby so young. i feel like i’ve missed out on the dating experince, being picked up at clubs, being able to go for nights out (my baby won’t stay anywhere that’s not home). i feel robbed of the experience of having flat shares, having a first job and a first apartment. it’s like i’ve come into a life fully prepared for me and not really gotten to have any experiences on my own if that makes sense?
i love my partner so much and i love my son so much, i just wish i had spent a few years being me first

hii, I just want to say that wanting that time to discover yourself before taking on so much responsibility doesn’t mean you love your partner or baby any less, you’re young and human so it’s normal to think about the what-ifs. You’ve built a beautiful life and it’s okay to have mixed feelings bc you can hold onto grief and gratitude at the same time. I never got to experience partying, clubbing or any of that sort of stuff either, but that’s okay, it’s weird to think about what life could have been like, but I think that’s normal, as long as you have an outlet and give yourself the space, time and understanding for your own feelings. Sending love your way, you’re doing a good job, even on days that feel heavy. 🩷

Aw hun that’s pretty normal, I’m also thinking about that stuff since I’m pregnant at 21. But honestly you still have time to do a lot of those things once the baby gets older! I’ve even gone out with my mom a few times since she had me young at 19. It can also be a blessing to have a baby young. Keep your head up at least you have a stable lifestyle which will definitely help you have the chance to have those fun experiences. 🫶🏽✨You don’t have to miss out just because you’re a mom now 💞
