I’ve spoken to a few other mums and they have all said that birth was traumatic for them.

My first one definitely was... the epidural some reason doesnt work on me so I was in so much pain while I invited my family to come ajd my was once boyfriend and his family to come as well... my boyfriend has a little brother who was 7 at the time .. his grandma raised him and she didn't habe anyone to watch him when I was giving birth and I said it was fine that he came... my side of my family disagreed and they all argued the whole time to the point the Dr had to kick them out cause I had to be put on oxygen cause it was stressing me out ajd risking the baby fight... and my family got mad at me for allowing the Dr to kick them out and held it against me ajd never came back to see the baby ... and I got really rude text from them ...

My 2nd child was just lonely... my bany father wasn't around because he didn't want to be ajd I didn't invite any of my family this time ...

First was, second wasn’t

Mine was I ended up giving birth on my living room floor with paramedics that didn’t know what they were doing… my waters didn’t burst naturally and they didn’t burst them so she was born in the sac had the cord around her neck and wasn’t breathing luckily after a few of the breath things probably a minute or two but it truly felt like forever she cried. Then my placenta wouldn’t come out and even it did it left some behind so had to get some pills in a place pills shouldn’t go when I got to hospital 🤣

Technically yes I guess? Lol i had an emergency csection so technically traumatic but I am not traumatized by it if that makes sense

you could’ve taken the words out my mouth! I was induced with my little girl and in labour for 3 days no progression couldn’t get past 3cm, back to back contractions, 2 failed epidurals and on the 3rd one which was successful as soon as it started working and all that pain was gone, I was rushed in for an emergency c section as my little girls heart rate was dropping , luckily after they stopped the contractions her heart rate was stable so wasn’t a scary kind of emergency (if that makes sense)
So if i think of it like that it was traumatic but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!! 🫶🏽

“Traumatic” is subjective. I don’t think mine was. But when hubby acts out and describes the scenario of the midwife shoving her arms elbow deep up me to get the remains of my placenta out (it came out in shreds, and if she couldn’t get the last bits out I would’ve had to go into theatre) while I’m clawing his arms and screaming in pain feeling everything no epi, it seems he was more traumatised by the episode than I was. It was painful AF but I don’t carry that trauma w me I wouldn’t call it traumatic it was just super painful. But he seemed to think so 😂 I was high on gas though. Maybe that’s why, I don’t remember much of it I remember being high as a horse lol

My first baby was my second wasn’t. My 3rd was. The rest of them were born at home so no for them.

The only thing traumatic about it was I was convinced baby was coming out of me before we got to the hospital. I literally delivered the moment I got on the table. Second birth was just as quick.

Not at all. Besides a few things, was a pleasant natural birth.

One was and one wasn’t

My first was, emergency c section, baby wasn't breathing on his own, they quarantined him in the NICU because of covid (nov 2021 so basically over) wouldn't let us in to see him until his discharge at 8 days and even then they required to just meet us at the door after hours to do a hand-off, Dr lied to us repeatedly and was caught when the nurses told a different story, and then threatened to call CPS on us when he was discharged and we took him home 🫠
My second was at a different hospital and was amazing

Mine wasn’t but I wasn’t fussed about how I gave birth more just that we both came out the other side safe, I think this mindset helped me because at no point did I feel let down that it didn’t go to plan etc, obviously I’m in no way saying that this mindset is for everyone, I’m a big stress head so for me it was nice letting the medical team take charge, I just valued their opinions and then made the final calls based off advice given! Overall I had a very uncomplicated vaginal delivery x

First one was extremely traumatic go figure it was a hospital birth too. Other 2 were free births and were peaceful and empowering each time.

I think both of mine were, in different ways. More the recovery and early post partum period, because I was completely out with general anesthesia during both emergency C sections. 👀

My birth was not traumatic, but my pregnancy was at least stressful. The midwife gave me a lot of unnecesary fears and stresses, especially regarding my gestational hypertension and my going to 42 weeks. I wont let that happen this time; although my blood pressure only reads high when I see her now. Its left over stress from last time because its not high when I test at home. My actual birth wasnt traumatic, extremely painful? Absolutely, felt like my skelleton was ripping it self from my body. But I had a short home birth with just my husband and self, it was 5 hours from the first contraction to birth. If I could do it again, I wouldnt let the fear get to me, or anyone stress me.

Im so sorry that happened, I have this fear.

Mine wasn’t. I stopped pushing to have some more food lol I started to get abit hangry

First one was as I had a very long labour, epidural, episiotomy and instrumental delivery plus several other factors including multiple internal examinations close together including a male doctor who I found to be creepy!
Second one was a quick and easy water birth which was a healing experience after my first one

My first, I was 17 and was absolutely amazing, despite it all happening so quickly... My second... Was very traumatic and put me off having any more kids. I had gestational diabetes and a whole load of other issues that led to constant hospital stays and monitoring.... Ended up being induced at 37 weeks and it was horrible. She's 6 months old now and my eldest is 7...

I meant to vote wasn’t. Even my emergency c section was great.

My first was my second was, and then my 3rd (which is my last one ever) was beautiful and magical. Ended on a real high note!

I feel like my birth was fine but my pregnancy was traumatic🤦🏽♀️

I absolutely hated my entire birth from start to finish. I have asthma, which was well documented through my entire pregnancy and well before and I was told after I was fully dilated and roughly 4 hours into my labor that I couldn't have nitrous, the well planned pain management tool I had planned to use because of my asthma. Then, right after I gave birth they tried to take my daughter away to the NICU without telling me what was wrong. I still don't fully understand why she was taken and kept there to this day, and she just turned 3

My whole pregnancy was traumatic.🫠 I had bad hg so I was hospitalized twice for that, almost died the first time. Then at 28 weeks I started having contractions and labor pains so went to hospital, luckily they stopped the contractions and put me on bedrest for rest of my pregnancy. AND THEN when I did finally go into labor got epidural but I still had what they called a "window of pain" so had to get oxytocin to get rid of that. While birthing baby came out and I was losing so much blood. Had to have emergency surgery to have a D&C bc the placenta ripped in half and half was still inside & they had to repair my cervix bc they found my cervix completely tore... baby #2 due Oct and im scared to death. 😅😰

I can say I was very lucky to have such a straightforward labour with my girl. She is my first, and I was induced 4 days after my due date. Thankfully, all went smoothly, and I would genuinely do it over again if it was like that every time! Every labour is different. That gets me, I have such anxiety when it comes to not knowing! X

I had a very fast short first labor- it was smooth but because I went from “normal” to active labor so fast I still have vivid memories of the whole event. I feel like all births are traumatic you go from pregnant to not and lose so much fluid and blood. Literally felt like she came out of my butt it was god awful and next time if it ever happens again I’ll get an epidural lol

4 day long induction stuck at 1cm. 6 pessaries later and no luck. Refused to give me a section. Eventually the pessaries overstimulated my uterus and I had back to back contractions but still only 1cm. As it had been 5 days they took me down to Labour ward and started pitocin drip. Got to 10cm in an hour and my son got stuck coming out. Needed episiotomy and forceps to get him out, had no numbing so felt the forceps and episitomy. That pain was awful. he didn’t breathe for so many minutes and I thought he was still born. May I add I was also 42 weeks!
I will never be induced again!!

My first one was, 2nd one was quick and easy

My birth wasn’t, my after birth was cause my placenta got stuck

Id rather give birth every month for 9 months than go through pregnancy again 🤣🫠
