Did anyone else feel aching pains in the vagina when they started dilating? is that a way to tell you started dilating?

Personally I don’t think I could tell. I was too focused on the contractions. I remember asking how far along I was and I thought I was ready to push and I was like 4cm lol

This may me a bit too tmi but When I was in labor with my son I put two fingers inside to check if I was dilating. And funny thing his head was already coming down lol and I was no where near the hospital or the car. 🤣🤣🤣

I didn't know i was dialiated until my doctor's appointement but I knew I dialited abit before my appointement cause I lost my mucus plug and my appointement was the next morning and when I went to my appointement I was at 3cm and 8 hours later I gave birth

i was around 2cm for a couple weeks before giving birth, but there were so many aches and pains i have no idea if i was actually feeling it or not

Idk bc they had to force my dilation. So, all I know is that the more dilated you are the more uncomfortable it will feel. Like horrible cramping. Once they finally got my dilation wider and my water broke it was game over. This might also be tmi (as someone else said) and I usually don’t say stuff like this, but when you go into active labor it feels like you have to poop very badly. Like I mean the biggest one of your life. However everyone is different so just take that into account too

I had aching pains down there just from baby being so low and putting so much pressure on my cervix. literally felt like somebody had been full force punching me in the coochie and I wasn’t dilated at all when that started.

I had slow early labor over about a week, and I'd randomly have a little spotting after contractions and lose part of my mucus plug which told me I was dilating or at the very least my cervix was changing

Only felt labour! And lost my mucus plug the morning it started x

oh my gosh 😂😂😂

Tbh just ride it out.
I couldn't tell and a lot of women can't. I'd been in pain hours and I'd moved 0.5cm.
Then a few hours later I was in agony and thought surely it must be close now. I was 4cm and I just cried.
You still get contractions and not move much in terms of contractions.

at first I thought it was just my kidneys acting up. But then I thought idk where those are 🤣🤣🤣 then i came to realize it was contractions 😮💨😮💨. I had him on the living room floor. I delivered him myself. And waited for emt to arrive.

lol, I honestly don't know what I'm actually feeling now. I just want baby out so badly 😩

how far along are you. It says you’re due soon. How soon?

I had aches and pains down there but wasn't dilated. The later the pregnancy the lower baby gets as they start getting into position for birth. It puts alot of pressure on the cervix and can create pain or lightning crotch

with my son the closer we got 😮💨😮💨😮💨 they more pain i was in… there was a time I think he put pressure on a nerve and my leg gave out multiple times.

@Michelle thats awful! I ended up with preeclampsia at 38 wks and was induced so I never got to that point. She had begun dropping so i was feeling pressure and having the lightning crotch but still wasn't dilated when they induced me. It was a long 28 hours 😅

😮💨😮💨 I’ve heard stories about induction I get nervous as I get toward the end hoping the babies don’t wait too long to come out lol. Also I didn’t realize it but with all the lightning crotch I was dilating. With my second I was in labor but didn’t know it… when I went for my 37 week appointment they told me I was already 3cm 😭😭😭 and I had contractions starting the week before…

Oh wow! Its crazy how everyone is different and no labor story is the same. The contractions were definitely awful once i was 3cm dilated but i had back labor as well and i wouldnt wish that on anyone. Ended up get an epidural at 3cm cause i couldn't take the pain anymore 😩 of course my daughter was my 1st so i dont know the difference between natural and not

my daughter was my first I got to 8cm before I asked for epidural. 😮💨😮💨 those pains are no joke… with my son it’s like I had no choice but to take the pain since I was home and I knew if we tried to leave I would have the baby by the door lol not even making it to the car. We live in an apartment so there’s an elevator. If you know about elevators they take their time. But since it was my second the baby was just coming down so fast… took 20 minutes from the time I called my parents to come pick up my daughter to the time the baby got here.

I was induced so I dialated very quickly. I was 1cm when I went in and yeah I felt aching

I don’t think you really know unless you get cervix checks.
I had so many painful Braxton hicks and such painful prodromal labor for like weeks before actually having my baby I think that helped me get dilated. I was 4cm at my 39 week appointment 😅

34 weeks and a few days but i was already in hospital with contractions and got a shot to stop the preterm labor

I think 34 to 35 weeks is safe to start helping baby get into position if he or she isn’t yet.
With both my once I was 35 weeks I started using my yoga ball.

40 weeks 😩

oh my!!! Oh yeah if baby isn’t in position but now try using a yoga ball and lean forward on the ball and rock yourself give baby some room to move a bit. Hopefully baby isn’t breech. And if you have a parent try having lots of sex if possible I know you may be very uncomfortable. But I’ve heard that men’s sperm has something in it that help induce labor.

thanks a lot, my baby is here 🥰

😩😩😩 yay!!!!!! I’m so happy for you!!!!

Ooww 🥰🥰🥰 thanks 😊
